Analogue

Decoder
The tuner in a digital set

D-CAB
Digital Cable - Digital signal is transmitted to cable in enabled areas

D-SAT
Digital Satellite - Digital signal is transmitted via satellite to a receiver

DTT
Digital Terrestrial Television - Digital signal is transmitted to an aerial

DTV
Digital Television

DVD
Digital Versatile Disk - Digital storage device commonly used for film/video

DVD-R (DVD-RW)
Recordable DVD, another digital recording device - uses DVD format

iDTV
Integrated Digital Television - A television with a built-in digital tuner

iDVCR
Integrated Digital VCR - A video recorder with built-in digital tuner

IRS
Integrated Receiver System - A shared reception system, designed for communal buildings, that enables delivery of many digital services via the
same distribution system, including satellite and digital terrestrial TV. Delivery is by a single wall plug in each household

Multiplex
A bundle of channels delivered in Digital Terrestrial Television by a single signal channel

SCART
A type of connection and cabling used to carry video signals, usually found on the back of TVs and video recorders

STB
Set Top Box, occasionally referred to as an adaptor

Switchover
The process of changing television broadcasting from analogue signals to digital only signals
